Sunshine Blogger’s Award

Well Blogosphere, you never cease to amaze me. Yesterday I was surprised by the honour of being nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Georgia Park. I can’t express how humbled I feel that this one came from someone with such obvious talent and such an inspiring story. Thank you Georgia. Really…

And I’m on vacation right now, visiting in-laws and only using my pretty crappy little phone (please don’t try to avenge that comment, phone), so this will be rather no frills, shall we say.

I guess these are the rules:

• Indulge yourself and answer any questions you feel happy to answer.
• Spread that radiance to some other awesome blogs to keep the light shining brightly.
• Use these questions or make up your own to ask your nominees.
• Tell your nominees that they have been nominated.
• Put your preferred logo award on display. I chose the one above. (If I figure out my phone, this may happen…)

Questions and Answers

How did Say no to clowns come about?

By accident. Because I’m not sure of the right word. I did see an hilarious meme on FB about clowns months ago, which reminded me of my dislike for clowns as a child, no offense to clown lovers. And for a few reasons it appealed to my sense of humour to use it for my blog name. But about a year ago, an old friend, rather gently implied he thought I should do something with my creativity. It came out of the blue and planted a seed…and I’m forever grateful. Because it has turned out I needed an outlet, more than I realised. And I didn’t realise just how much I love poetry. But the best part has been the awesome talent and support I’ve stumbled on.

What are the goals of Say no to clowns moving forward?

Good question. Haven’t honestly thought about it. Enjoy it so much as it is and every person it touches is such a lovely surprise. I kind of see it now as an ‘in’ to enjoy other people’s work quite frankly.

Who do you have to thank for ?

A couple of friends who thought I should write, one in particular I’ve already mentioned. Plus you bloggers, some in particular, and I would list you but this phone is making me crazy. Another grey hair has busted out as I write this. So I’m really sorry. But thank you so much for your encouragement. It means the world to me, I was so shy about this.

Many of you have already been nominated for this award, and the people I want to nominate most likely don’t want to be for different reasons, and another one I would definitely have nominated has since left the blogosphere. So I will just leave it at that for now. But I am awfully grateful for this community.

Must say good night.

No I did, you and Ward and Steve Simpson were originally on there, but when you left and I knew Ward didn’t do awards, and Steve didn’t have the time, then I edited this

I have to go right now, so my creativity is not cranked, but there is one question…I know it is such a cliché, but I am interested in your answer…if you were stranded on a desert isle (I prefer dessert, but anyway) what would be the three things you would want with you?
