ponders myself
a day that’s already bled in
(365 times Hallmark)
to our psyches’ movement
through mountained plains
perpetual translating
of the countenanced refrains
that echo
after birth.
The depth obfuscated, unsung
fully,
we play punctiliously with undone
really
and the cardium layers hold hands
tightly
tremoring with the ache
of a thousand forms.
For nothing is what it seams
we wake from wrongly so/ewn dreams
in that cold sweat of generations
we honour with strange venerations
those undeserving.
And there’s no way to finish these lines
kaleidoscoped mystery of a child’s eyes…
Loved the last two lines Vanessa. Childhood memories come to us in so many different ways.

Hi Davy!
Thank you!
Mothers’ Day is complex, isn’t it? I’m so grateful for my parents but days like this can be so hard for many, for so many reasons. A bit like Valentine’s Day, which I don’t celebrate.
But I think that loving, nurturing, kind qualities should be honoured in our harsh world. As well as the extraordinary process of literally growing a human!!
And not just on one day… 🙂

True Vanessa. There are so many emotions tied up in these appointed days. The process of growing a human should be acknowledged every day 🙂

Of course I don’t celebrate Mother’s Day with my mother.
I love reading things like this from people who have good relationships with loving mothers, makes my heart have hope

Hi! Thank you so much for commenting ❤ I am so glad if it does give you hope! I have mixed feelings about the way social media is flooded on days like this. Or maybe, it's more the way that it is done.
This day is quite often filled with pain, as you know, 😥 which I was hoping to reflect a little.
I think anyone who invests in the nurturing of others should be honoured. Ugh we do waste a lot of time and resources honouring the wrong people imho. Sacrificial love inspires me. And I think it should be honoured every day!

Happy to see you! Always a seat at the cafe, especially on Mothers Day. Love this poem… ah childhood, those days you want to capture forever.

Thank you Stephen! Likewise. And I love that you love it, thanks!
And those kaleidoscope eyes, capturing the profound connection between mother and child, no matter the circumstance. Something that should inspire the deepest reflection in us always imho.
