cart wheeling…

down a memory foam floor,

mind brake off,

jadeless tinted glasses

a treasured gift

in a shadow box on the wall,

to be smashed open in an emergency,

that page in the dictionary

torn out and replaced

with a hammer

for every day of the week

I went cartwheeling down a similar path a few nights ago, but the effects were not skipping-through-the-flowers pleasant (love the picture by the way.) I am making great effort to remain present.

      Max! Hi!
I’m over the moon if you got something out of this. Thank you for saying.
It was lovely to see your writing today. I have reduced my screen time, so I wonder at how much I miss, but it’s nice to “see” you.

I have been enjoying reading your work. your manner of thought and expression very much strikes a resonant chord. I too have been mostly absent from the digital realm as of late. Sometimes, it’s just necessary. I hope all is well with you. It was nice to “see” you as well.

I’m honoured you think so, Max!
Yes, absolutely necessary. It’s been a hard year actually, but I’ve learned a lot about myself, and others, and consequently making some changes. So I am okay, thanks! I hope you are well?!

A fabulous first stanza, which caused a vertiginous reading of the second. Which I now have to read again, because I’m interpreting it differently 😊

      Ooooo “vertiginous” – great word.
When I wrote it, my initial thoughts were that the character was cart wheeling along this floor for the first time…
