disappear

this rake isn’t as heavy as I thought it would be,

I feel your suggestions as you’re watching me

make these corrugations –

portal permutations,

at least,

they were in my dreams,

the ones

bursting from the seams

of my mind’s eye.

From here below periphery,

silent door’s epiphany,

you hear my eyes as you look at me…

one of my current ear worms. if you need a little energy boost, or a push through a portal or something…(and if this video doesn’t play for you because you don’t live in the best country on earth 😉 there is this acoustic version:)

Lyrics:

Faceless, underwater
We can disappear for a while
No one will notice

Shifting, out of focus
The silence calls on us for a moment

Sinking down
Thought I lost myself, but I didn’t
Looking up on us
Shadows dance above
Blurry vision

We could disappear for a while

Nameless, talking
Big dreams and nobody wants them
Weightless, walking
Why does it feel like home when I’m lonely?

I always found
On the solid ground
I was tripping
Away from space and time
I don’t really mind
That I’m slipping

We could disappear for a while

It’s not running away
We were never meant to stay
In the first place

We could disappear for a while

Wading’s not enough
It’s more than just dipping your feet in
Dive in if you want
But I’ll be jumping off in the deep end

We could disappear for a while

It’s not running away
We were never meant to stay
In the first place

We could disappear for a while

      Really? Darnity darn.
I wrote the poem, inspired by the song. I would’ve posted the official video, but sometimes I prefer not having the visuals of the video.
      Thanks FFP!! 🌸

I totally agree with you. I often don’t want the images associated with me or the song and just prefer the audio and the words alone. Many times the music videos give an entirely different meaning to the music and often ruin it.

yes, I think they can so easily limit our imagination, just by the nature of it. Other times, they’re perfect.
But it’s still too bad you can’t hear it.

      Yasmin! hello dear friend.
      Do you? 🌸🦋
I found the actual song did that for me, it’s upbeat (if you didn’t get to hear it) I heard it for the first time yesterday when i was driving and it changed my mood instantly.
But i’m honoured you feel that way. Thank you for saying.

Great track and poetry Vanessa. Blocked in the UK as well but managed to find the track and listened to it as I read the poem. Both opened a wonderful portal.
