lullaby

Lyrics:

“The Way You Are Tonight”
(originally by Don Walker)

All the faces in the crowd
All the singing long and loud
Celebrations on a midnight clear
They set the world alight

All the fire in the sky
I can see it in your eyes
And I could love you for a thousand years
The way you are tonight

See all the tired faces
Going on their way
And in the east there’s just the palest line
That shows the coming of the day

As it breaks across the sky
I can see it in your eyes
I could love you for a thousand years
The way you are tonight

And as it breaks across the sky
In the closing of your eyes
I’ll remember for a thousand years
The way you are tonight

        1. Thanks for that Ivor.
I was lucky to meet Paul Kelly years ago, just very briefly, when I worked at the Festival Theatre in Adelaide. His then wife was in a play at the time. Lovely guy, very gentle. Very tall haha
I was listening to this new song by Missy about her son. It’s gorgeous too! Have you heard it? I haven’t had the joy/pain of having children, but I think motherhood is incredible.
