Spotifying silences most salient

playlist preambles this poignant

pinpoint of poly- arcs’ pensivity.

’tis the season!

the clown rebukes itself

then embraces,

there’s a reason for Velcro

and not laces

(because I used to work in a pre-school, but I digress),

and I refuse to put on this dress

of nostalgic knitted hue,

a new song, right on cue…

 

 

(A friend shared one of his videos on FB, it was new to me. I haven’t seen many, but this one…p.e.r.f.e.c.t.  And so me. Apologies to friends I have already bothered with this, but not really. Best move at 2.56)

    You have captured what I think is the strangeness of this season perfectly: the mixture of hopeful newness, with looking back and summarising to the jury of one. It isn’t just the unbelievable rudeness I see everywhere on roads, in shopping centres etc, I suspect this judging extends from ourselves to others. Fortunately, at an Orthodox St Nicholas Day celebration I attended yesterday, I was introduced to the Sunset. You may know of it: a layer of red wine floating above a layer of Fanta, perfect for the inner child and the world-weary adult. Thanks to my lovely in-laws, I am now qualified to prepare and serve it.

    Where was I? Oh yes, wishing you all the best for the festive season and the coming year, Vanessa, keep poeting, onward and upward.

        Oh V! So happy to hear your Christmas was great …. oh that Boxing Day feeling has now descended but I shall reluctantly keep up my holiday lights and revel in the good feels lol.
