Sugar, sunshine and stuff

So this intriguing wordsmith Watt, who throws out such thought provoking, beautifully hued lines from his piers, has so kindly nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Gasp. This always amazes me and I am very grateful.

I never used to “get” these things, but have gradually learned what a fantastic way it is to get to know other bloggers a little better, as well as being exposed to new talent. Win win…although the “award” label does always bewilder me a little. Like I have said before, if there ever is an award ceremony, I hope there is lots of cake. No cameras and expensive shenanigans. Just cake. The key to world peace, imho. No wait, I used to think that was chocolate. So I guess there has to be lots of chocolate cake.

So here are the questions from Watt, and I will do the best I can to answer them, considering my mouth is full of a cupcake I just baked. Lol. An amazing coincidence.

What is one thing that separates you from all your screw ups, almost immediately?

I guess it depends how we define “screw ups”. And context maybe? There have been times when I thought I had screwed up and it turned out I was completely wrong. I do laugh easily at things, but then, I have offended people doing that. I’m not sure I can answer this, Watt…and I will just end up rambling trying to figure it out lol.
Perhaps some music while I try to figure out the next answer.

How much do you love people? Other people, people that you believe are pieces of you?

Wow. This is a complex question. And it has changed over the years. I believe I love pretty deeply. But I have also failed miserably at times. So much of it is listening, and seeing, I have been terrible at that. I need a truckload of caffeine and some more ink to plumb the depths.
Something great about aging, is that you do learn to judge people a lot less…
I am also intrigued that you asked this question.

Lastly, what would you call worse; a pulmonary embolism or an intracranial hematoma. The answer is pretty simple, in my opinion.

Er, what, Watt? This kind of escalated quickly. lol. I can’t answer this. Maybe some cake eating accompanying music instead 😀

As for my own nominations…actually, I am going to be bold and just tell you you have been one of the winners of the award…and that goes for all of you wonderful people who have enriched my blogging life. Thank you so, so much!

and if you feel inclined, please answer these questions, preferably out loud, on your blog, or in my comment section:

What is definitely not your favourite colour?

Do you like cake? If not, why?

Can you live without a Smart phone?

Do you like cake? If not, why?

What are your thoughts on clowns?

One of us had to switch to decaf. Can you guess which one of us?

Thanks Everyone! ❤

Awww Watt, I figured the last one was, and it’s hard to contain my silliness…
And the first question, oooohhhh, that is what you meant…the more I thought about it the more I overanalysed it, which I am kind of good at 🙄 and then I overlook the simplest answer…
Simplest answer would be laughing at myself and how ridiculous life/humans can be. Bahaha
Thanks for this, I really enjoyed it.

    No Pinks, Just Chocolate Cakes
I’ve been nominated for a “Sunshine Blogger Award.”, by Vanessa of, ‘say no to clowns’, As my followers might know, I don’t usually participate in awards, I suppose I feel embarrassed/overwhelmed, and feel like it’s a burden to other readers, to pass on/be nominated. Anyhow, for Vanessa, here’s my answers to her intriguing questions….

What is definitely not your favourite colour?

Pink, It definitely doesn’t suit me. My mom wanted her second child to be a girl (Me), I was originally dressed in pink for a while, after mom had spent months knitting pink outfits for the new baby (Me)

Do you like cake? If not, why?

I’ve been known to eat whole sponge cakes, in one sitting, especially with pink icing, like I’m trying to devour the pink icing, off the face of the planet…….

Can you live without a Smart phone?

I don’t have a smart phone, just a little Android phone. I suppose I use my phone a lot, but in health situation, it’s a necessary item. And I’m always jotting down notes/lines in my phone, that I could later use in a poem…….

Do you like cake? If not, why?

    Chocolate cake is my favourite……

What are your thoughts on clowns?

I never liked clowns at the circus, they used to scare me, and never thought they were the least bit funny, and they wore terrible make-up !!

One of us had to switch to decaf. Can you guess which one of us?

It wouldn’t be me. I don’t drink a lot of coffee, but I do going to a cafe for a good coffee, and enjoy a chat with a friend, and soaking up the atmosphere create within the cafe….

As Vanessa said in her article, “As for my own nominations…actually, I am going to be bold and just tell you., ‘you have been one of the winners of the award’…and that goes for all of you wonderful people who have enriched my blogging life. Thank you so, so much!”. If you feel inclined, maybe you could answer the above questions that Vanessa, put to me……

    Cheers

    Ivor.

      Dear Ivor,
Thank you for doing this. Your answers were intriguing! Wow I did a sad giggle at the pink icing thing!
The clown thing… I think it truly bewilders a lot of people. The make up…shudder.
(I’m wondering if you meant to share this on your blog?)

I’ll be sharing later today, I don’t like to have two posts on the one day close together, and I’ve found some usual Ivor typo errors. My editing is a slow process, after my strokes I seem to have a more pronounced dyslexia problem than before, but I’m getting used to it now. Everything just takes more time and so it’s a bit more difficult, blogging, and my writing…… poems

Our minds are incredible machines, I surprised myself with what I could achieve, I suppose it comes down to how much we want to do something, and how our brain copes with the effort/limits we are able to push our bodies to, …..

Thanks Charlie! Watt’s mind is an amazing place! I was honoured for the mention. And you are more than welcome to play along dear Charlie. (But I am aware that it isn’t everyone’s cup of tea).
      Oh, I so agree…the 90s were amazing 🙂

Watt, is one of my favorite writers today. He is super gifted and talented.

Yes, I have notice my name mention. I use to participated in those nominations and I don’t anymore but I am truly thankful and humbled by such. 🙂

oh…my god. I know a ton of 90’s music. You know something? You just started to get me to send you something that you and I, remember.

Let me take you back to the 90’s of what music was about.

        The Bucketheads – The Bomb

The Outhere Brothers – Boom Boom Boom

        Night Crawlers-Push the feeling on

Listen to these 3 for now. And if you want me to send you more to take you back to the good old days, please. 🙂

An impressive set of answers, Vanessa. I can’t answer any of them: I am better with multiple-choice and numbers. I do want some cake now, but I don’t have any.

Your questions are also challenging. Questions lead to more questions. Maybe mobile phones are not my favourite colour. Because they’re not a colour, they’re a phone. But they could be a cake. Would you eat it or send an SMS? Perhaps both, with little letters in the icing. “I was going to message you what to say to clowns, but I ate the ‘n’ and the ‘o’.”

Decaf, it means the caffeine has been removed. What could be simpler? I’ve discovered toothpaste is quite sweet, and I’m currently thinking of making a decaf toothpaste cake. Firstly I’ll put some coffee in, then I’ll take it out. Thanks for some fun. 😸
