the falls and the rises
the contours of surprises
the weeds in their guises…
growing inside of me
at the speed of duality
unique to humanity
(why am I rhyming in threes?
but I guess, technically
it’s now five.)
I ponder – inner strolling with my allergy medication
but really, upon pages of days of consideration –
it’s time to slash and burn.

ha! I love this! Witty, but with a hint of melancholy. Love the picture too by the way! Well done! 🙂

I loved the rhymes! Especially the first stanza is so perfect there would be no other way to write it. I hope you’re having a great day, dear!

Wow, B, that’s an awesome thing to say, thank you!
And I am thank you, first time out tonight in a few days as I have the flu! 🙄 such a pointless thing.
Hope you’re well?

Really, what is the use of flu? Why does it exist?
I am well too, dear. Enjoy your night out!

Yes. Why, flu gods, why? (maybe to enhance the melodrama? Bahaha)
I’m so glad! And I did, thanks. Not 100% so it’s good to be home again with a drink by the fire. 😁

Ha ha! Yes, that’s a good explanation! Whatever someone is going through can get a little more dramatic with a touch of the flu.
And now enjoy your drink by the fire!

You’re so kind!
You know, while I was seriously pondering once, on what I would want with me on a deserted island, I realised it would be tea, which fixes everything, and cake, to celebrate the fixing of everything. And to celebrate anything. 🤭

Cake has many uses, nourishment, celebration, sharing, connection, so I would one hundred percent agree. We could be happy with cake by the ocean on this deserted island ❤️

haha YES! To all of the above. 💖
And now I will be able to annoy my not-cake- liking hubby with that song! Thanks for reminding me of it LOL.

I love that song!! Although, I kind of get why some people may hate it!

Oh don’t get me wrong, I love it too…actually, he does as well, it’s just that I tease him about not liking cake…I mean, it is a little disturbing…who doesn’t like cake?!?! what is WRONG with those people? 😁

What am I rhyming at 5? This reminded me of myself except I don’t have such lovely words to share like you do. I’m usually outside waiting for the sunrise. Such a peaceful time of day, Beautiful post 💜🦋

Definitely not 5am… I meant five lines lol. I admire you if you’re up at that time! Really.
And thank you so much Michelle 🌸

haha I re read it like that too, and that definitely made me smile!

I’ve always been accused of reading too quickly. My editor used to say I only read the first sentence but that’s not true. Lol I think my brain reads what it wants to and makes stuff up. It’s creative 😂😂😂

A friend of mine went to Australia. He says “shucks” so many times now, that I believe it to be part of our vernacular.

Really? That’s interesting. I guess I don’t hear too many people using it anymore, unless they’re kinda silly like me hehe

Maybe he learned it from someplace else. But he did say it after coming back, so maybe.

I think it’s a great thing to return with, instead of the cliches perhaps.

Great poem my friend. It had such a wonderful rhythm that I was tapping my feet while reading it. Very well done.
