riding with you

Yesterday, while I was on Facebook in my usual love/hate Facebook angst, a friend shared a video which reminded me of a song I had forgotten about, that was released this year.

I’ve never really been a fan of Guy Sebastian’s music, and his career started when I lived in the USA, so he wasn’t on my radar at all.  I wasn’t really listening to his genre of music either. (I’m mellowing in my aging!) He spent his teen years in the city I grew up in, and went to a church I know of, and was musically involved there.

I decided to look up the video.

It was written for a close friend of his, who toured with him and was very talented, but who also suffered from depression apparently, and very sadly, took his own life. This song is a tribute to him, and also about the joy of their reunion in heaven.
To say that it moved me even more when I realised their sons were in the video, is a bit of an understatement.
This song is filled with biblical imagery I love, but of course, the message of taking time for our loved ones, or anyone in our path who needs connection, including ourselves, is relevant to all of us.

I personally love it. It dropped down when I needed it too, and I thought I would share it for anyone who hasn’t heard/seen it already. Even if it isn’t your cup of tea, for all my friends and acquaintances who are struggling with these things, I hope you can feel my hand out to you ❤

And if you are interested in the back story:

Thank you for sharing Vanessa, Guy’s song is a glorious tribute, and of course I’m teary(that’s Ivor). I’ll place the song in my ‘Vanessa’ play list
I can’t remember if I’ve sent you this song or not. There is a music first half, and then the beautiful lyrics start 🎶

Hi Ivor! I was teary numerous times. I’m so glad you liked it.

I love that you shared that piece. I actually used that song with a poem quite a while ago, and I trashed the post for some reason, I can’t remember why. But I love it! Thank you for reminding me, I might be able to find it.

      Hope you’re well?

Sounds wonderful. I swear every time I sit with my computer on and thoughts pulling at my mind, this and anything else by Sebastian shall be the first thing I shall hear.

I’m not sure if that’s true but I know of a blogger named Watt (he seems like a talented writer and very successful too). What exactly is a greater? Is it the site theme and all or something like that?
