Hey there! It’s been a while. And good news…Darrin has survived 6 months of chemo and is doing well. I’m at a loss for words considering it’s been exactly a year since he was rushed to hospital.
But, of course, the madness of the world is making him wonder if surviving was actually a good idea…
You are a gem, Russell. A golden gem. Extra gold and extra gemmy.
And thank you Jimmy Rees. You have helped so many of us. I turned off the mainstream news on this issue last October and got my updates from you instead. I consider this one of my wiser moves in life.
(And just because…
recently, this double rainbow decided to perform at a local cemetery. It lasted for about 15 minutes. Standing ovation from us.)
If anyone is actually reading this, please say hello and let me know how you are.
Peace. V.

Oh wow, .. what an important video message from ‘Jason’ … yep no need to watch the TV news, because Jason was talking just like them … and we can meet up at ‘Rainbow’ Vanessa, that’s about half way I figure ..
and the good news about Darrin is truly grand … Cheers … from nearly ‘covid’ free Geelong ..

Did I ever tell you my father is from Rainbow?!
Yep, that Jimmy Rees nails it… I love his videos! Has definitely helped a lot of people stay a little sane.
I was going to ask you about getting one of your books Ivor, as I don’t use Amazon. Would you be able to send me a signed copy…if you could let me know the best way I can pay you for everything?

Oh Vanessa. bad news about my book
I have been having a few disputes with my publisher’s and they have withdrawn my book from publication
Looks like I’ll be seeking another publisher 😊🌏

Oh no! I am sorry to hear that! Is there another one that looks likely to work?

I am having a rest and then I’ll submit to Australian publishers
It’s not the end of the world .. I have had more dreadful things happen to me in life, than a book be out of publication

Indeed. But even so, I’m sorry for the disappointment.
And also hoping you get the rest you need. ☺⛱

You’ve obviously been through some challenging times? I wish you well in all of that Michael.
And things are much better for us right now, thank you. But we’re acutely aware now of how quickly that can change. It’s been a good adjustment to my perspective, that’s for sure!

Hi! It’s my pleasure.
It was amazing that the day before Darrin went to hospital last year, he was driving between city and home and saw 7 vivid rainbows. We live in a somewhat desert clime, and he had never seen anything like it. And now, a year later, when his doctor thought that for sure he wouldn’t live this long, it moves us even more to see one.
Hugs back!

Hi Vanessa, finally got to WP, lockdown is difficult, I am so glad that things are still going well. Love the photographs, particularly the first one. I can see a double arc but I suspect you have a triple, the third mostly yellow/purple. I’m still a scientist at heart, or whatever that thing is in my chest 😸, and I am saddened by what I read in the media and social media. I must say that Bill Gates, through the Gates Foundation, is indeed a great philanthropist and has done a lot of good in the world.

Hi Steve!
Oh, we are lovers of science too… but our hearts are saddened at the the lack of integrity in too many places now.
My gosh, those rainbows were incredible. I wasn’t going to photograph them as I felt my pics wouldn’t do them justice, but then I couldn’t resist. Yes! There were two vivid arcs, that lasted for ages. And I’m thinking you were right about a third.
(On a side note, when I changed email providers, I lost your email address. If you ever have the time, could you please email me through my contact page? I have a couple questions I’d like your expert opinion on. 🙃
Thank you! And no hard feelings if you don’t have time).

I agree, it’s so hard to know what is true, and after all, science is the study of nature, of all that is, around us. I have acted as a reviewer for many scientific journals, served on various faculty and grant committees, and the things I have seen …
Nevertheless, I do what I can. Although I can’t check everything, sources and credentials, I have reservations about those whose fame comes from, say, dressing as a cat, or saying outrageous things.
Yes, of course, will do. My expertise is very limited though. No-one cares about magnetohydrodynamics anymore. 🤓
