in my late husband’s heart breaking collection of whatnots I’ve been going through, I found the memorial information for the remarkable paediatric surgeon who saved his life years ago. Darrin just happened to be visiting his home state one year when he found out about his doctor’s funeral. So he was able to attend, and give thanks for the life that had saved his own.
This quote from Amiel’s Journal was in the memorial booklet:
“Do not let us wait to be just or demonstrative towards those we love! Life is short, and we have never too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who travel the dark journey with us. Oh, be swift to love, and make haste to be kind!”

A beautifully worded memorial Vanessa … It’s been 10 years since Carole passed, and the love of her friends who were with “us” during her 30-year journey with MS, still continues … we religiously met up 4 times a year, to celebrate and rejoice Carole’s life … ((Hugs)) XX
