This blog is a creative outlet.
And I am grateful for the ocean of talent out there I have been exposed to through it. It’s the best part about it.

This blog is often confused about itself.  But I think that saying no to clowns has never been more appropriate. May a little humour and connection help to save, even a small part, of our sanity.

There is an ocean of talent here and I’m loving it too. And just like you I find the interest, support and community a “beautiful and humbling experience” also. Thanks for sharing. You probably shouldn’t encourage banter from me. LOL! I might get carried away.

        No, My pleasure and so glad to meet you! I have been converted into getting up about 4 a.m. instead of the night owl thing. So, how many hours are you ahead of Central time US? Yes, I am blessed with a wonderful daughter! Yes, she was great growing up too, lucky for me, she was a straight arrow. I realize how lucky I am when I listen to other parents horror stories. Thank you, Lord! LOL!!

          4am. Wow. I have another writer friend who does that. I’m normally awake then, after just a few hours of sleep, so I’d be turning over hoping for a couple more!
          Let’s see, I normally judge by Colorado time, we lived there for ten years, 11 years ago. It’s 6.40pm here on the 15th, must be 1.10am in Colorado, if I have that right still.
          I am happy for you that things have gone well with your daughter! We don’t have kids, but I love them, and can only imagine the challenges these days.
          It’s lovely to meet you too.

    Your blog title intrigued me enough to visit and the first post I read — bizarre enough to make me laugh out loud and one of the most “casually eloquent” blogs I’ve yet come across — will make me a follower! What is it about you folk from down under and the English language?! I mean none of you can speak well enough to be understood by the rest of your fellows in the English-speaking world (or your accent obscures this fact) yet so many of you write like there is no tomorrow and today you must leave your Shakespearean imprint. As we like to say here in the States, with equal eloquence: it don’t make no sense!

    Thank gosh above for clowns or your dislike for them might never have inspired this amazing blog!

      What a very intriguing comment, Pamela. Thank you so much for visiting, and reading, and commenting 🙂 And I really do thank you for your compliments, it’s an honour you think it’s amazing.
      What you said about language made me laugh out loud! My husband is American and we lived in Colorado for 10 years, and what I have found is that Americans don’t have an ear for our accent. Just as I didn’t for Spanish. Before then, it was so out of my experience.
      But the whole incongruence between the casual talking and the more articulate writing, that’s definitely a cultural difference I think. That could be a long, and interesting conversation 🙂

    I have read your ‘about’ bit for the first time today and found it interesting. Also, I didn’t know that people liked an ‘about’ page and it has prompted me to follow suit.       Hi Miriam. I’m sorry I missed your comment for some reason.
      haha about clowns…I never liked the painted clowns as a child, I never understood them, or why they had masks. But I have never been a fan of makeup generally.
      But I also have a tendency to clown around instead of dealing with things that need to be dealt with, so this is about finding balance, really. I don’t take myself too seriously, normally…sounds like you and your clowns might know exactly what I mean 🙂
      But there are some things that demand more serious attention from me. So I am working on what I think of it all.

      haha I appreciate your comment on the name as well…I really did not like painted clowns as a child. I didn’t understand it at all. I still don’t…
      Plus, I really tend not to take myself too seriously, so I have been pondering all of that. The name just seemed to fit – sometimes it is meant as good advice, sometimes it is me being tongue in cheek. More often than not, I don’t know what the heck is going on 😁
      I love Steve’s creativity and sense of humour. Blogging has been so much more than I anticipated.

    I cannot not to follow as I hate clowns and always did and even more after the second time my grandmother brought me to the circus as a child and when I started to cry at the sight of the clown she brought me back home asking for a psicological assessment 😱how can a normal child not like circus and clowns?

        If you want my opinion,you never missed anything except the acrobats they are very good but they don’t worth the burden of the clown😂😂My girls never went to a circus because I against circus with animals and they are fine with that😉

          I did go once, I was about 10 maybe…I agree, I loved the acrobats, but everything else baffled me. And I visited some of the elephants afterwards ( African ones are my favourite animal) and it was very poignant.
          I guess circuses were borne of a time where people wanted entertainment and distraction from their very hard lives…but the animal thing is so sad. And then I wonder about the things on tv just for entertainment…yikes…ugh, humans!!
          I am glad your girls feel that way 🙂

        most kind. 🙂 happens to me too… WP seems to shift things between followed and not without my direct conscious awareness. It is so interesting, this loose community via writing… it contains many inspirations and I am glad for all its flavors.

    I’m having a bit of difficulty though figuring out how to read you as your posts aren’t in any date order. Not that I am ‘totally’ organized myself.

    I’ve skipped around read some fiction and poetry. Hope to see you at Willow Poetry. That is one of my go to prompt sites these days.

    It is annoying when unrelated businesses try and use your site to boost their businesses.
    So I am very cautious about anything unrelated to ‘free’ writing or arts.

    Continued health and success into this new year – OK we more than two months in – but really each day can be a new start. Cheers, Jules

    (PS don’t use the icon – it will not get you to an open site. WP continually makes changes and the one where a person who has more than one site now can’t switch their Icon to where they are commenting from is annoying – to say the least).

      Hi! Thanks so much for visiting!

      (I actually do have things in date order, it is just the two posts at the top have been pinned there as they are important to me. After the first two, they are chronological (well, backwards with the most recent at the top). There is a menu at the top as well with a dated archive.)
      I also have not been regular in posting in recent months as i have had other things going on, so I will probably be in and out depending on what is happening.

      And thank you for the well wishes! I wish the same for you! And I agree, every day can be a new start, it’s good to be reminded 🙂

      haha oh dear, that is a big conversation. US politics has been quite the circus for a while…I watched in bewilderment when I lived there. But it’s getting late here, and politics makes my head hurt lol.

      I tend to re write this every few months…I was toying with doing it again, but I agree, I love that video. I stumbled onto his whole dictionary experiment a couple of years ago, such an interesting idea! I’m so glad you like it!
